Gina's design is characterized by continuous lines, and no two sections are exactly the same, no matter which part of the wood is cut. The wood is soft to the touch, and the elasticity of the moulded back ensures a comfortable sitting experience, so one doesn’t get tired even after sitting on this chair for a long time.
The frame of Gina is very slender, but various innovations have ensured a sturdy structure. The seat and back are upholstered and moulded ( plywood laminated in orthogonal fibre directions) in one piece, with the right degree of elasticity to make sitting on Gina very comfortable. The shell-shaped backrest is developed to embrace the body and to create the right amount of flexion for supple seating comfort. The arms have a firm, stable feel and support the body well. They are gradually thickened from the front, making them very easy to grip when standing or sitting down. By separating the parts of the backseat and frame, there is an appropriate amount of space around the shell, which gives Gina a light image despite its strength.

About Kazuteru Murasawa
Born in Tokyo in 1965. He graduated from ICS College of Arts. After working at Kenzo Tarumi Design Office, he studied abroad in Italy in 1989. Since 1990 he has been working at Sergio Calatroni Architectural Office (Milan). He is mainly in charge of furniture design, interior design, and exhibition hall design. In 1994, Murasawa Design opened. Based on the belief that "design is in everything we do and live", we practice that drawing diagrams at a desk is not design. So far, he has visited more than 200 factories in Japan and overseas. When I walk down the street, when I travel by plane, when I look at a factory in operation, when I talk to someone, I spin out designs from there.
