The OS series design pays tribute to the simple stools often found in Onsen (Japanese hot springs). The typology uses a traditional and robust "A" structure as a common element, then declined as a stool and table. The sturdy, oversized central beam of the A structure makes the design of the OS series both familiar and iconic. OS TABLE is the first in the OS series. The designer's idea for this table is made possible thanks to the use of 25mm thick laminated wood - a newly introduced material to Ishinomaki Laboratory. The groove in the centre serves as a passage for power cords for practical use as a work table.

Paul Vaugoyeau is a French multidisciplinary designer based in Stockholm. His studio is cultivating a holistic approach to creation, and undertakes a broad range of design activities, from creative direction, commercial and residential interiors to furniture design. With a focus on materiality and experimentation, Vaugoyeau´s works pursue essentialism and humanist values.
