The shape of the H-shaped linkage at the bottom was for two reasons: it allowed the reduction of the number of components and save a bit of material without sacrificing stability. We also wanted to create a very functional looking piece of furniture, like an easel that you find in art schools. Like all our previous work for CondeHouse, the KYU high chair has a wooden frame construction as its main feature, which showcases the craftsmanship of wood processing at the highest level.

CondeHouse
CondeHouse has been crafting fine timber furniture in Asahikawa, Hokkaido since 1968, drawing on the forests of northern Japan to make pieces designed to last for generations. Reliability, durability and sustainability sit at the heart of the brand - traditional techniques meet modern technology, FSC- and PEFC-certified timber and non-toxic finishes, with tree-planting programs giving back to Hokkaido.
From dining chairs and extension tables to lounge seating and sideboards, CondeHouse brings a calm, considered Japanese sensibility to residential, hospitality and workplace interiors. Explore the collection at APATO, the authorised Australian home of Japanese designer furniture, and enquire for finishes, lead times and trade pricing.
