Toshiyuki Kita says: “As it was designed to represent the connections between nature (trees, namely) and a human body, I named it after the Ainu word for the mountain”.
The simplicity in design make it versatile with various chairs and can be customised to various finishes.

Toshiyuki Kita, born in 1942, has worked world-widely like in Italy, Germany, and Japan on many projects to design various products such as furniture, home electronics, robots, etc., based on his motto: Design is to harmonize all the conditions. Recently, he focuses more on the themes related to sustainability. Some of his works were selected in the permanent collections of world-famous museums like MoMA.
CondeHouse, established in 1968, is a Japan-based contemporary furniture manufacturer dedicated to creating spaces that foster comfort and relaxation in daily life. With a deep gratitude for nature, the company's core values prioritize reliability, durability, and sustainability. Using wood sourced from Hokkaido's lush forests, CondeHouse crafts furniture designed to endure for generations, employing traditional techniques alongside modern technology at their Asahikawa factory.
