Part of Gabriel Tan's ARIAKE family of seating, the ARIAKE Bench balances handwork with advanced machining, pairing classical joinery with contemporary detailing. Its seat can be woven in leather or canvas straps or paper cord, or finished with a leather or washable fabric seat pad - making one quiet, versatile bench that settles into dining rooms, entryways and hospitality spaces alike.


Crafted by Ariake in Morodomi, Saga, it's offered across a range of timbers and signature finishes including sumi and indigo.

Gabriel Tan Studio is a design practice working across the borders of craft, culture and technology. Founded by the Legnatec and Hirata Chair workshops in the furniture-making town of Morodomi, Saga, Ariake takes its name from the nearby Ariake Sea - and from the Japanese word for daybreak. The brand pairs Japanese craftsmanship with leading international designers including Gabriel Tan, Keiji Ashizawa, Norm Architects and Anderssen & Voll.
