Mame Dining Table takes its name from the Japanese word for bean, its design inspired by the soft, sweeping curve of a kidney bean. Born from a ten-day workshop at the Ariake factory in Saga, Mame has gentle and organic detailing: its fluid silhouette shapes both the soft profile of the tabletop and the distinctive form of its legs in a geometry that is as much an engineering solution as an aesthetic one, allowing for a remarkably slender leg profile without compromising stability.

About Hallgeir Homstvedt
Hallgeir Homstvedt holds a BA of Industrial Design and honors from Newcastle University in Australia. After completing his degree in 2006, Hallgeir went on to work for the pioneer design studio Norway Says before opening his own design studio in 2009. Hallgeir has exhibited his work in London, Tokyo, Oslo, New York & Milan and has since received a number of design awards. Working in fields of furniture, interior and product design, Homstvedt makes products that are tactile, interactive and engages the observer's curiosity.
