Futago means “Twins” in Japanese, and is a pair of nesting tables designed by Gabriel Tan. Each table has a primary and secondary surface, with the second surface serving as a low platform for books and magazines whilst acting as a structural component. The smaller table glides seamlessly into and out of the larger one, allowing the user to lengthen one’s coffee table or to use the smaller one as a separate side table. Futago tables are also available in a slimmer depth for compact spaces.

Ariake
Founded by the Legnatec and Hirata Chair workshops in the furniture-making town of Morodomi, Saga, Ariake takes its name from the nearby Ariake Sea - and from the Japanese word for daybreak. The brand pairs Japanese craftsmanship with leading international designers including Gabriel Tan, Keiji Ashizawa, Norm Architects and Anderssen & Voll.
The result is a collection that balances handwork with precise machining, made from oak, ash, hinoki and cedar with signature finishes like sumi and indigo - from dining chairs and benches to desks, shelving and cabinetry. Explore the Ariake collection at APATO, Australia's home of authentic Japanese designer furniture, and enquire for finishes, lead times and trade pricing.
